Having a website is practically creating your business on a virtual landscape. Think of it as establishing a brick-and-mortar shop but the pace is 10 to 20 times faster, plus you have a wider audience. You can definitely expand your business within the web and experience a great return on investment. However, who you trust to create the website can be crucial, you must know how to determine the perfect candidate before striking a deal with a professional.

How Do I Find Someone to Make a Website?

That is a very good question. You can go on Fiverr, you can go on Upwork, and you can be disappointed. And you can also go on Upwork and Fiverr and not be disappointed. You have to make sure that if you go to Google Maps that you read the reviews, if you go to Trustpilot you read the reviews, look for a portfolio, ask them for case studies. A lot of websites don’t like to publish their clients because they don’t agree to it, sometimes they have NDAs, sometimes it’s an adult entertainment website that they don’t want to be associated with but they will create a website. So you can ask for a portfolio and you can ask for design portfolios, they are two separate things. Some developers will not create a website, but just create the design, so you want to make sure you can see both worlds. One if they can develop a website, two if they can design it because a web developer is not always going to be somebody who’s going to be able to design it like you want it, and then you will have an issue, and then they will run around and look for a designer to do the design for you, so it’s a big problem finding somebody to make you a website but it’s also a question of money. So there are websites that are pretty big, that you can go ahead and Google website developer and they’ll show up on the top search results. Most likely they are good but they’re gonna be way beyond from your budget, unless you want to spend fifty thousand dollars on a relatively normal website. These are the prices nowadays. Just because you don’t understand yet, before you get your website, how much work goes into it. Yes, putting the website out there is easy, but maintaining it afterwards, that’s the big trick. This is where they catch you and they, you know, tell you “Hey you have to do revision here, you have to add this, your server is weak, you should change your hosting”, and they just hook you up real good and you want to make sure that you know how much it costs before you even go into it.
